Production Technician(Aerospace Industry)

Position Summary

The Production Technician role is responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of machinery, including die cutters, saws, ovens, and specialized polyimide processing equipment, while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical reasoning skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and adjust equipment as needed. Over time, Production Technicians will be cross-trained to learn and support all aspects of production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, set up, and adjust production machinery, including die cutters, saws, ovens, and equipment used to process polyimide materials.
• Perform accurate mathematical conversions, apply formulas, and use the results to adjust machine settings and to confirm the product is in spec.
• Focus on quality output by applying deductive reasoning and data-driven decision-making.
• Handle and prepare raw polyimide materials in compliance with strict safety and quality procedures.
• Move materials in and out of ovens as part of the processing cycle.
• Conduct delicate bonding and finishing of polyimide components, including trimming and other precision techniques.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring proper use of PPE at all times.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and general housekeeping to ensure a safe, organized work area.
• Document production data and communicate issues or improvements to supervisors.
• Support other production tasks as directed; responsibilities listed are not all-encompassing, and additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Physical Demands:

• Follow detailed production instructions and adhere to specific timing for each step in the process.
• Safely lift and handle materials and components weighing over 50 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods throughout the shift.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Strong basic math skills, including conversions and applied formulas.
• Mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn specialized technical processes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Responsible, punctual, and professional attitude.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Physically able to lift over 50 lbs. safely.
• Willing to stand for long periods.
• Willingness to operate a forklift when needed (training will be provided if not certified).
• Work in a hot environment during the summer months.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
