Facilities Handyman

 

Position Summary

The Facilities Handyman will ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained work environment through
timely and professional maintenance support. Responsible for all upkeep and repair duties, including
maintaining green spaces, identifying the need for repairs, responding to maintenance requests, and
servicing company equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic tasks, including painting and filling crevices, cleaning facilities, and managing maintenance repairs.
  • Perform repairs on company machinery, equipment, or appliances.
  • Detect and report on the need for major maintenance repairs.
  • Regularly check community spaces to identify issues with litter, mechanical failure, or breakdowns.
  • Respond to clients’ maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of outside spaces such as parking lots and sidewalks.
  • Oversee the sprinkler system and trash containers on the company premises.
  • Report all accidents immediately to the supervisor and/or department management
  • Other tasks may be assigned as business needs dictate.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar facility or maintenance role.
  • Strong ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, bend, and move for extended periods as required by daily maintenance activities.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop,
    reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, and crawl in low spaces. Tasks include the need for
    finger dexterity, clear speech, hearing/listening, reading and writing, moving furniture, and
    related equipment.
  • Employees are frequently required to: grasp, push, stand, walk, drive, reach with hands/arms,
    stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance.
Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
Safety and Compliance:
  • All work must be performed in compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards.
